Newborn Baby
Tired infant baby cries in mother hands, unhappy exhausted mom sitting on floor with cryin

It is not what you expected.

You just had a baby, and it’s different from what you imagined. Instead of the joy and love you hoped for, you’re feeling constant sadness and guilt. There may also be feelings of anger. You feel drained. The thought of making even small tasks feel overwhelming. You might find yourself crying frequently and feeling unsure why. The nights seem darker and more challenging than you anticipated.

You might be worried about what’s wrong with you. Despite your best efforts to bond with and care for your baby, you don’t feel the connection you expected. It begins to scare you. Your partner may be stepping in more, and you feel guilty for not being able to do more. The demands of a new baby can be draining, and deep down, you sense that something isn’t quite right.

Everyday tasks may now feel like mountains to climb, and the moments you once looked forward to seem less enjoyable.

You are not alone. There is hope.

Something is not right...

Why do I feel so sad? Everyone is telling me I should be happy. â€‹

You could have postpartum depression is a type of sadness that can occur after having a baby. Unlike the “baby blues,” which typically fade after a few weeks, postpartum depression lingers and can create difficulty for a mom.

While all new moms experience fatigue, feeling exhausted all the time and unable to recharge—even after rest—can be a sign of something more. Even after a good night’s sleep, you might wake up as tired as when you went to bed. You may sleep more than usual and struggle to get through daily activities. This persistent tiredness isn’t just about being busy; it’s a deeper level of exhaustion that can impact your overall well-being.

Why Am I Feeling So Anxious?

If you’re finding yourself feeling constantly worried or struggling to relax, it might be a sign of postpartum anxiety. You could be overthinking everything about your baby’s well-being or questioning if you’re making the right choices, even when there’s no real cause for concern. This constant worry can make it difficult to focus on other aspects of your life and can even lead to physical symptoms like a racing heart or trouble breathing.
