Supporting You Through Pregnancy

You are pregnant and you feel worried about it

Pregnancy is a time of profound change—emotionally, physically, and mentally. While it’s often filled with excitement, it can also bring about unexpected stress, especially as you navigate the many decisions that come with preparing for your baby’s arrival. From choosing the right crib to creating a perfect nursery, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure.

I want to support you in finding a sense of ease, self-compassion, and confidence throughout your pregnancy. Whether you're feeling the pressure of making decisions, concerned about your delivery, or simply managing the expectations that come with this new chapter, I’m here to help you feel grounded and assured in your journey to motherhood.

Understanding the Subtle Stress of Pregnancy

Stress during pregnancy doesn’t always look like what you might expect. You may not feel outwardly anxious, but you might find yourself constantly busy, filling your days with tasks, or researching endlessly to ensure everything is right for your baby. This desire for perfection can quietly build up stress, making you feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices you need to make.

You might also seek reassurance frequently, hyper-organize every detail, or shop excessively to feel in control. Even focusing on your appearance or avoiding certain topics can be ways to manage underlying anxiety without realizing it. Additionally, if you have a history of pregnancy loss or have struggled to conceive you may find it hard to focus on this pregnancy. While these behaviors might seem productive, they can sometimes prevent you from truly embracing this special time and can mask the stress that’s quietly accumulating.

Embracing Flexibility and Self-Compassion

By cultivating self-compassion and trusting your instincts, you can approach pregnancy with a sense of ease. Together, we’ll work on recognizing when your drive to prepare is becoming overwhelming and finding ways to restore balance in your life. This might include setting boundaries around how much time you spend researching, practicing mindfulness, or simply allowing yourself to let go of the need to control every detail.

Preparing for Postpartum: Planning for You, Not Just Baby

It’s natural to focus on preparing for your baby’s arrival, but it’s equally important to prepare for your own postpartum experience. Often, we plan meticulously for the baby—setting up the nursery, stocking up on essentials—but overlook the care and support we’ll need as new mothers. The postpartum period can be just as challenging as pregnancy, with physical recovery, emotional adjustments, and the demands of caring for a newborn.

Creating a postpartum plan that prioritizes your well-being is essential. This might involve arranging a family and friends support system, identifying helpful resources, and planning for rest and self-care. It is important that you feel support and care as you step into your new role.
